When my good friend, Paige, moved to Sydney, we pretty much instantly made plans to meet in New Zealand for a ladycation road trip.
This was the first place ever written on my bucket list so, needless to say, I was stoked.
New Zealand is known for its epic outdoor scenery and hikes. We wanted to make the most of our time and budget, and explore as much as we possibly could.
Paige’s roommate, Anne, also joined us for a week of the trip!
Airline miles and AirBNB helped out tremendously. We stayed at quite a few farms where fresh food and beverages were also included.
I was able to spend a total of 22 nights in New Zealand, and enjoy 15 different AirBNB spaces throughout both islands.
My total personal cost for accommodations was $557.55.
Below are photos of each AirBNB we had the opportunity to stay at throughout the entire New Zealand trip. Click the titles & photos to check out the official listings.
TRAVEL TIP: Don’t be afraid of long layovers!
I had a 24 hour layover on the Hawaiian island of Oahu on the way to New Zealand and an 8 hour layover on the way back. I spent about $140 extra on rental cars, AirBNB accommodations, and food. It was well worth it. Plus, its a nice way to break up the trip. Flying can get exhausting so a quick nap on the beach can help boost your energy.
